By registering or using Corallium Chess you agree to these terms. Please read Section 3 carefully — it concerns competition integrity and can directly affect your child.
1. What Corallium Chess is
Corallium Chess is an aid for parents who do not play chess. It explains what is happening in your child's game in plain language and gives you a sentence to say to them.
It is not a chess coach or a replacement for one, not a guarantee that your child's rating will rise, and not a tool you may lawfully use during rated games.
Analysis comes from a Stockfish engine running in your browser at limited depth. It suits players up to roughly 2200 Elo. Above that, the app deliberately gives no commentary.
2. Accounts
You must be 18 or older to open an account. Children may not register.
You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per family. Sharing an account with another family, or using it to teach paying students as a commercial service, requires a separate agreement — contact us.
3. Practice sessions only — the most important part
Companion Mode must not be used during rated games.
This includes MCF, FIDE, MSSD, MSSM and school tournaments, and rated online games on Lichess, Chess.com or any other platform.
Receiving outside assistance during a rated game is cheating. The consequences fall on your child, not on us: annulled results, rating suspension, or a ban from competition.
The app asks you to acknowledge this before first use. That acknowledgement is not a formality. If you breach it we may terminate your account without refund, and we are not responsible for any action a chess body takes against your child.
Use it during sparring, home practice, and when reviewing finished games. That is all.
4. Subscription and payment
| Free trial | 14 days, once per account |
| Monthly | RM 49 |
| Yearly | RM 490 |
| Grace period after expiry | 7 days |
| Payment method | FPX via Billplz |
Subscriptions do not renew automatically. Access ends when your paid period finishes, plus the seven-day grace period.
Prices may change. A price change does not affect a period you have already paid for, and we will give at least 30 days' email notice.
For refunds, see the separate Refund Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You may use Corallium Chess to guide your own child and to review games together.
You may not use it during rated games (Section 3), resell or share access, copy the teaching content for republication, evade subscription limits or create multiple free trials, or use automated tools for bulk access.
6. Accuracy and limits
Chess evaluations come from an engine running at limited depth so it stays fast on a phone. It is sometimes wrong, especially in complex positions or for strong players.
The teaching content is carefully written and has been reviewed, but it is general guidance rather than absolute truth for every position. If your child or their coach disagrees with something the app says, they may well be right.
We do not promise uninterrupted availability.
7. Open-source software
Corallium Chess uses Stockfish, chess.js, react-chessboard and other open-source software. Stockfish is licensed under GPL v3. All licence notices and source links are available on the Licences page in the app, and must remain complete and reachable.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We are not responsible for competition results, rating changes, disciplinary action taken by chess bodies, or decisions you make based on the app's analysis.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach Section 3 or Section 5. For breaches of Section 3, termination is without refund.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
