These terms govern your use of Corallium Chess, whether at www.corallium.my/chess/app or through the Corallium Chess Android app. By registering an account, you agree to them.
1. What this service does
Corallium Chess is an explanatory aid for parents who do not play chess. You mirror your child's practice game on your phone, and the service explains what changed in plain language.
It is not a chess coach, not a replacement for lessons, and does not compete with the free puzzle and lesson libraries that already exist elsewhere.
2. Practice only — this is a condition of use, not advice
You must not use Corallium Chess during a rated game, a tournament, or any official play.
Outside help during official play is cheating. It can get your child banned from Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF), FIDE and scholastic events. The app asks you to acknowledge this once before the Board opens; that acknowledgement is a condition of use.
We may terminate an account we believe is being used to assist rated play, without refund.
3. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to open an account.
- One account per parent or guardian. The account belongs to an e-mail address rather than to one phone, so you can use it across your own devices.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe.
- Do not share your account outside your household.
4. Trial, price and renewal
- Registering an e-mail address gives a free 14-day trial with full access.
- After the trial: RM49 per month or RM490 per year.
- Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit. We will notify you by e-mail before any price change applies to you.
An FPX payment is a one-off bill. It does not renew itself, so there is nothing to cancel. You renew manually, and any days still remaining are added to the new period rather than lost.
The Android app does not sell subscriptions
The Android app is how you use your account, not how you buy it. Registration and the free 14-day trial happen there, but a subscription cannot be purchased inside that app.
5. Limits we state openly
- Explanations cover play up to roughly 2200 strength. Above that the service is deliberately silent, because an engine running in a browser cannot stay ahead of a player at that level.
- Explanations are generated by software. They can be wrong, and they are not the advice of a qualified coach.
- The service needs an internet connection to sign in. Once loaded, the Board works offline.
We provide this service as is. We do not warrant that it is error-free, and we are not liable for chess decisions made on the strength of its explanations.
6. Content and ownership
The explanatory text, the pattern lexicons and the Handbook are the property of Corallium Tech. You may use them to guide your own child. You may not copy, republish or resell them.
The service uses the Stockfish chess engine, open-source software under the GNU GPL v3. Full licence notices are available in the app under *Licences*.
7. Termination
You can stop at any time by deleting your account — see *Delete Account*. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, section 2 in particular.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction.
